Flowers bring so much warmth and excitement, to a person, a home, a space. Couples frequently ask me how to determine where the floral focal points should be. The perfect three places to begin –
Your bridal bouquet is an extension of you and will be in MANY of your photos through the day. Incorporating your favorite blooms, featuring premium florals, adding volume, and tying it altogether with a patterned/hand-dyed/textured ribbon are all beautiful ways to make your bouquet stand out.
Oftentimes, I draw inspiration from looking at a bridal bouquet, and oftentimes, they are one of the most loved pieces for a florist to design. It’s the perfect medley of what you love and a glimpse of your florist’s heart poured into arranging it, stem by stem.
Growing up, the dinner table was a place for our family to gather. It was a time that I truly cherished and have brought into my life as a wife and mother. Your table at your wedding is the same, a haven for you and your spouse to sit and enjoy a meal together to celebrate one of the most momentous occasions – starting your own family and life together.
Whether you decide on a head table with family/wedding party/closest friends or a sweetheart table for a more private dinner together, your table should be the focal point in the entire room.
Designing this space to be a lovely representation of all the details you’ve been dreaming of can be accomplished through incorporating your favorite blooms and lush arrangements on your tabletop and layering personalized and meaningful details throughout, with it all sitting atop your favorite patterned/colored/textured linen.
The common denominator of creating the perfect tablescape: your vision + your florist’s expertise and creativity + your planner (who is detail- and design-oriented) that will help piece everything together.
The emphasis here is to be thoughtful and impactful. A lot of time together will be spent during the reception, so having a statement piece will capture your guests’ attention from the very moment they step into the space.
From elaborate floral backdrops, hanging installations, to lush arrangements framing your dance floor, there are so many ways to approach designing this piece to create a fun, celebratory ambiance to set the tone for the rest of the evening!
