No matter where you are in the planning process, a little inspiration can go a long way. Often, we sit in front of our computers and ponder where to start. Having a general sense of what style you want or even what you don’t want will help ease your mind as you share your ideas with your planner. With these ideas, we will build a design board that encapsulates your vision to share with your vendor team and bring it to life. A color, word, scent, moment, and item can all evoke emotions associated with it to help inspire you.
Here’s a list of some of the most well-known wedding inspiration blogs that can help you get started in solidifying some ideas that have been on your mind for a while now.
Starting with a color that you like will also be a good guide to building a beautiful palette. Whether you want vibrant pinks, peaches, daffodil yellow, lavender tones for spring and summer OR berry, mauve, dusty blue, and more muted tones for fall and winter, there are so many possibilities on social media and the blogs mentioned above to create from. You’re also free to choose any color you want regardless of season! One BIG thing that I would advise is to get an awesome florist to bring in those colors through your bouquet and floral installations. It really makes a big difference when you find someone you trust that will eloquently blend those colors together into a coherent ensemble.
Tying design into the emotion and culture of a place is another way to get started. Whether you’re mesmerized by the vineyards of Italy or the bold designs of Barcelona, beautiful themes can be drawn out of places you’ve been to or are on your bucket list to be incorporated into your day. These details can be as subtle or as bold as you want them to be, from mosaic tile place cards at each seat to strings of grapes interlaced through the floral arrangements at the center of your table.
Remember, the creative team you choose will be your biggest cheerleader, friend, and supporter. Bring questions to them, share openly about your vision, and they will bring it to fruition.
