The serene spring day set the scene for Diana and Ben’s intimate Chateau Nouvelle wedding. From the moment they saw the intricate European-inspired detailing in each aspect of the venue’s design, they knew Chateau Nouvelle would be the perfect canvas to create a warm ambiance for their wedding day. As the first couple to have their wedding at the newly renovated Chateau Nouvelle, Diana and Ben’s special day was not just a milestone for them but also for the venue, making it even more meaningful.
Diana and Ben’s heartwarming story began as a beautiful friendship. For two and a half years, their friendship deepened as they learned more about one another. Gradually, it grew into something more, and within two months, they knew they wanted to spend their lives together. Diana knew when Ben bought a safety kit for her car, showing his thoughtful care and concern for her. Ben knew when he envisioned himself as part of Diana’s family.
Their engagement added another layer of excitement to the joyous holiday season. They were eager to spend their lives together and set their wedding date for three months later. As their wedding planner, I had the joy of choosing thoughtful, personal touches that communicated classic and refined elegance. From creating a structured plan and detailed budget to selecting cohesive design elements, Diana and I spent quality time together ensuring every detail was the perfect reflection of her and Ben.
Sunny skies greeted the arrival of their wedding day. The venue’s beautiful garden and ornate interiors provided a stunning backdrop for their vows and celebrations. The start of their day was relaxed and peaceful as they savor the small moments, preparing for a big one. Their first touch and private time to pray together highlighted the cornerstone of their wedding day with God as the foundation of their marriage.
One moment that stood out that afternoon was when I walked Diana’s dad through what will happen during his first look with her, using a medley of gestures and a few Spanish words I knew. He was nervous as this was his first time having a first look. I reassured him that it would be wonderful and that he could let his emotions and words flow freely. His heartfelt reaction to having a video to encapsulate the precious moments of the day was this: “A movie? Me?” He was truly delighted to hear that this special day would be made into a film as a keepsake for his family, with him starring in it as one of the most important people of the day. His reaction to seeing her showed his deepest love for her, perfectly highlighted through the lyrics of their first dance song: “I Loved Her First” by Heartland.
Diana looked radiant and elegant as she walked down the aisle. She chose a classic ballgown, adorned with a lovely bow in the back and completed with satin gloves. Her smile, one of the many aspects Ben loves about her, mirrored the love and warmth that surrounded them. This was the first time they saw each other, and Ben’s eyes never left her.
The reception was a delightful mix of classy elegance and fun. From the first dance to their grand exit, every heart was filled to the brim with genuine joy to celebrate their beautiful union.
At the end of the evening, Diana’s parents hugged me, expressing their gratitude and wishing to see me again. It was a simple gesture, but it meant the world to me, highlighting the deep connections we form through these beautiful experiences. It truly illustrates that connection is not based on quantity of time but rather on intentionality in the opportunities that we do get to connect.
