From the very beginning, Christina and Sean’s beautiful spring pastel wedding felt like a reflection of something softer, with the kind of love that quietly unfolds.
Their story began in 2016, with a thoughtful introduction from someone who knew them both just well enough to see what they couldn’t yet see for themselves. Christina’s best friend, Rachel, who had known Sean since high school, decided to introduce Christina to him after hearing he hadn’t quite found the right person. A simple “Do you think this guy is cute?” quickly turned into a double blind date, thoughtfully planned to make Christina feel at ease.

At the time, she was hesitant about going on a blind date, but what started as uncertainty slowly turned into something steady and deeply meaningful. Conversations felt effortless.
While long distance, they would set out time to visit one another, even if that meant Sean’s car somehow breaking down during every drive to see her.
When we began planning their wedding, it was clear that this wouldn’t just be about creating something beautiful but about creating something personal.

Set at The Peach Orchard, their day embraced the essence of a romantic spring pastel wedding, layered with painterly details. Christina, an artist at heart, knew she wanted her art incorporated through the day in a thoughtful way. She designed all paper details, from their invitations to playful stickers featuring them and their dogs, Eli & Bon Bon. Each detail carried her signature, painterly style. This added a sense of intimacy that made guests feel immediately connected. From first impressions through their invitations to that same design printed on vinyl and set within the consoles that framed the dance floor, every detail was thoughtfully designed.

One of my favorite design moments came as we envisioned their seating chart. Wanting to honor both Christina’s artistry and love for florals, we created a garden-inspired escort card display. Each guest found their names written on floral escort cards nestled among a meadow of fresh, fragrant flowers. It invited interaction, curiosity, and a sense of wonder, becoming not just a detail but an experience.

As the day unfolded, the atmosphere felt effortless. Soft pastel tones carried throughout the design, complementing the natural beauty of the venue and creating a cohesive spring pastel wedding color palette that felt romantic and timeless.

From the quiet, emotional moments before the ceremony to the energy that filled the dance floor, Christina and Sean were fully present, leaning into every feeling, laugh, and embrace. That presence is something I always hope for my couples. And it’s what makes wedding day so meaningful, not just how it looked, but how it felt.

Christina later shared something that stayed with me. She spoke about how planning felt joyful rather than overwhelming, how she always felt supported, and how what began as a search for a planner turned into a genuine friendship. Being trusted in that way and invited into not just the logistics, but the heart of a story, is something I never take lightly.
This day was a beautiful reminder that weddings are more than a collection of details. They are a reflection of who you are, what you love, and how you choose to gather the people who matter most.

If you’re dreaming of a spring wedding filled with thoughtful details, pastel textures, and meaningful design, I would be honored to walk alongside you to create a warm space that feels like home.
Our heartfelt guide to Houston wedding planning here.
“I would not have imagined that a simple search would lead me to finding Vanessa! Her work matched the vision I had for my special day. After our first call, I knew I was in good hands! Vanessa is very attentive to all the details that I ever mentioned or showed to her. She also took the time to really get to know us and our story, which meant so much…
Vanessa really took care of EVERYTHING… If I ever asked for other vendor options than what she initially showed, she was always patient in giving me more options until I felt great about my choice… Vanessa has never made me feel bad about any decision, and she’s very adaptable to any last minute changes.
We lived in another city, so Vanessa was very thorough in planning out our day to make the most of our visits back in Houston. When friends or family ask, “How is wedding planning?”, my answer has always been, “It’s great!”. Vanessa was always a few steps ahead, so I never felt stressed from planning. For wedding day, Vanessa had a great team around her to make sure the day goes as smoothly as possible. All the vendors I have had the chance to interact with before wedding day have all mentioned how great Vanessa is to work with, which already speaks volumes of how well she holds herself.
Vanessa overall is so kind and warm. I am so glad I got a friendship out of this experience!”
